Saga: Ancient Greek command

MOLON LABE - ancient Greek for "Come and take them". It is told that King Leonidas of Sparta replied this to King Xerxes at the battle of  the Thermopyliae when Xerxes demanded that the Greek should lay down their weapons. Michi's little Spartans chose to honour mighty Leonidas by adopting this reply as their motto.

There is a standard bearer which was uncommon in armies of ancient Europe, but shows the importance of the particular command base. The model is from Brother Vinni. The sculpt was slightly converted, because ther used to be a modeled owl on top of the standard and letters engraved for Athens. Those who had watched 300 know Leonidas' opinion about Athens and thus the standard had to be changed to a more Spartan look.
The second miniature is an Aulet, playing the Aulos, an instrument consisting of two reedpipes which was the most popular of all in the ancient world. Musicians are not relevant in Ancient Saga, but she might also add to the importance of the command base.
Third is Helena, Queen of Sparta, which Michi found as a collector's miniature on Ebay. She is the only metal cast among the new models. Brother Vinni's miniatures are cast in resin.

The plastic base got three magnets implanted and sand glued on to safely hold those three minatures.

Their 20mm diameter bases were made from copper plated steel coins which are held in place by the neodym magnets under all circumstances.
