Gaslands: Car wreck - Schrottauto

Car wrecks are often displayed on the gaming tables in zombie games or other post-apocalytic scenarios. They are also not misplaced in any modern warzone or in scrapyards for gangster scenarios set in modern times. Usually these were somewhat beat-up die-cast models or only the bodies of such.
Often they are shown completely rusted or burnt.
This is not what Michi wanted. He intended to display damaged and aged wrecks, left for decay beyond any chance of repair. Those damages caused by accidents are not easy to apply to hard die-cast bodies, therefore casting them in softer material was the way to try.

Incredients for the experiment shown above:
Blue stuff (a rubber that softens in hot water to make moulds), Fimo Air (an air-drying clay that must not be baked), Lego bricks to build a box for the mould - and finally a model car with closed windows.

This is what the result looks like when it is cut and dented for proper damage after coming from the mould.

This is another result, which was the first one to paint after release. Michi chose a cream colour, because it would well contrast the rust.

The paintjob was layered and highlighted, then washed brown and chocolate brown paint stippled on for the rust. The wreck was protected with two layers of varnish after painting and covering the windows with gloss varnish.
