Imperial Assault: Loku Kanoloa & Biv Bodhrik

 

Michi had read for years about a miraculous varnish that would really leave a dead flat finish on miniature surfaces. That liquid is regretfully not obtainable in Germany and therefore was avoided to order from abroad. Increasing unsatisfactory results with semi-gloss shine of "matt" varnished miniatures made Michi finally place an order in Italy. Postage was still higher than the value of the bottle, but still lower than from the UK. 

This Winsor & Newton matt varnish works wonders. It's really the first matt varnish in 40 years of painting by Michi, that does what it promises when applied with a handheld brush. 

It was tested on some lead miniatures first and then applied to these semi soft plastic miniatures for Imperial Assault:
