Gaslands: Wasteland Whackers

The Wasteland again: This time there were three teams competing for the flight to Mars. Doc lent some of his vehicles to Zac to introduce the game, but Zac had built a vehicle list before. That meant that all of his cars were actually buggies per definition and his pickup truck was a car in fact. Confused now? The Table Terror Team was...
Doc rolled highest and got the pole position, Zac and Michi queued up clockwise behind Doc's VW pickup truck. Michi's Corvette left a large blob of oil behind - right in the gateway of Gate 1.

Mayhem and carnage commenced immediately caused by bad driving and good shooting. The crowds went mad, the action got louder and Zac learnt the hard way how it feels to be a wasteland racer. However it was Michi's performance car that was the first vehicle to be wrecked - even before reaching Gate 2!

Zac managed to get into leading the field, being the first to pass Gate 2, but soon after failed to make a turn tight enough to stay on the table with his car - and off he went, never to be seen again. A lot of vehicles decided to drive on in reverse after they had spinned or crashed due to bad driving.

One of Zac's buggies made it to Gate 3, still in reverse gear, while Doc blew up the VW pickup in an explosion after he had hit two hard obstacles in a single move and exhausted the hull completely. The wreck simply rolled on and caught fire. The grenades aboard made it frag:

Doc wasn't the only one to detonate one of his vehicles: Michi blew up one of his bikes when it crashed into Gate 2.

Time was running short then during Turn 3 and Michi had to leave the wasteland. Zac was announced being winner of the race and got shot to Mars. At least that is what the spectators were told, he is yet to be seen again...

Bolt Action: The secret documents

Played one of the scenarios from the rule book yesterday. Mission goal was to retrieve secret documents from the battlefield and bring it off the table. We had a lot of fun with US Airborne vs. Wehrmacht, each about 500 points. Lots of cinematic moments, when my 2nd Lt. grabbed the documents and in the next moment blown away by a mortar shell, after surviving a fierce attack from a German MG. In the end a brave and very lucky forward observer saves the day for the US forces.

Bolt Action: Wehrmacht vs. US Airborne

Franz (aka GröFranz) and Doc played a battle Wehrmacht against US Airborne last night, about 500 points on each side. It was a lot of fun and there were some cinematic scenes. Here are some impressions.
One of the highlights was the rush of a German flamethrower team, which was stopped by the hail of bullets from the US Airborne in ambush. In return, the 2nd Lt. and his staff were rubbed out by a German MG. Showdown was the close combat over an open field, where the US Veterans Squad had a bit more luck on their side than their opponents.

The evening was very entertaining and in the end the dice were a bit more on the American side. Even with the limited number of points and a relatively small battlefield (3.6 x 3.6), the game was a great one.
